一、会议背景及主题

　　在过去的40多年，中国通过波澜壮阔的改革开放实践，积极融入世界经济体系，实现了中国经济增长的奇迹。然而，当前世界经济形势空前复杂，贸易保护主义、WTO改革等多种不确定性因素叠加累积。在此背景下，我国继续沿着党的十九大路线，坚定支持多边贸易体制，推动国际社会共同建设开放型世界经济。与此同时，空间集聚作为一种典型经济现象，在中国不同地区普遍存在。贸易自由化背景下的空间集聚现象产生的许多新的研究话题。

　　为此，由中国区域科学协会新经济地理专业委员会和中南财经政法大学工商管理学院联合主办的“国际贸易与区域科学前沿研讨会”，拟于 2019 年 11 月 15-17 日（15 日下午报到、16 日全天、 17 日上午）在中南财经政法大学（南湖校区）举办。现面向国内外对此领域有研究、有兴趣的人士征文。

二、征文范围

　　为了更好地开展学术交流，本次会议主题包括（但不限于）：

Call for Papers

2019 International Symposium on the Frontier of

International Trade and Regional Science

Wuhan, China

November 16-17

Background:

After World War II, globalization has marked itself as removing barriers of goods trade, service delivery, transportation, migration, and capital flow across countries and regions. The Belt and Road Initiative is proposed to accelerate the integration of the world economy. Such a phenomenon has fertilized development of regional science and related disciplines. However, over the last few years the accruing benefits of trade liberalization seem to be fading and globalization is at the crossroads. In particular, geopolitical tensions and the U.S. tariffs on China and Mexico are reversing globalization. How will the world economy evolve? How should regions or countries respond in such an era of uncertainty?

The “2019 International Symposium on the Frontiers of International Trade and Regional Science” aims to find answers for these questions and to offer a vigorous platform for exchanging frontier ideas and fostering better codification of methods. This conference will be hosted by Zhongnan University of Economics and Law during November 16 to 17 in Wuhan, a city with both an ancient history and a thriving present. We welcome submissions of high-quality papers in broadly defined areas of international trade and regional science. Topics of interest in this joint conference include (but not limited to):

•Global Value Chains

•Frontiers in NEG theories and empirics

Submission Deadline: October 10, 2019.

1.Submissions with a full paper should be made no later than October 10, 2019.

2.Upon acceptance, the authors will be notified around October 20, 2019, and confirm their attendance by registration by October 25, 2019.
